Eagle Days at Smithville Lake

Attending Eagle Days at Smithville Lake in Smithville, Missouri was a great way to beat the winter blues this weekend.  Snowy owls that had migrated from the arctic upstaged the eagles.  Park rangers placed scopes at a few locations around the lake and trained them on the snowy owls.  They were too far away for me to get a picture of one, but they were so cool to watch.  Demonstrations with live eagles, owls, kestrals, and even snakes were held at the golf clubhouse near the lake.   Fun day!

No, my buddy to the right isn’t stuffed!  He was very much alive.  By the way, I didn’t see any mice in the clubhouse.
